For those who've been playing the game since the very beginning, however, it's likely starting to feel a little stale. Updated January 21, 2021: Thanks to its fantastic nemesis system and the other innovative ideas it incorporates, Shadow of Mordor remains an incredibly enjoyable game despite now being almost seven years old. It is possible to play around with the game's visuals, however, and there are one or two quality of life mods as well, but there's plenty more that we'd still like to see added in to the game. Sadly, Shadow of Mordor is a notoriously difficult game to mod meaning that there aren't too many options when it comes to freshening up the experience. Combining great storytelling with an immersive open-world and a complex fighting system helped make this one of the better games to come out in the last decade. As good as any game is though, it's always fun to be able to mix things up with mods. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is one of the best Lord of the Rings video games ever made.
